Memorial Day - Our first celebrated holiday

Easter was our first holiday with the babies, but Memorial Day was the first holiday they celebrated. We went out to my brother's and sister in law's house (Kevin and Jill). Unfortunately, Craig had to work, so it was me and the kiddos. We had a good time spending the day with them. My other brother Les and his wife Kim were also there along with Jill's family. We had some good food! And a lot of it! We had brisket, chicken, potato salad, beans, broccoli slaw (Jill, tell your mom I want that recipe), rolls and yummy dessert (Kim, I want that recipe too)! It was all delicious! Craig really enjoyed his to go plate. Jill's mom and brother and sister in law met the babies for the first time. They helped me feed them too, so that was nice! We had a good day, but we wish Daddy could've been there. Hopefully, he will be for the next red, white and blue holiday coming up! We missed you Daddy, but we appreciate you working hard to take care of us!

Pay no attention to my high shoulders and short neck. I am not deformed, just holding the babies in a weird way making me look like I have no neck.

Our first sickness

Well... It happened. We got our first round of sickness. Monday night, Whitney seemed a little congested, but I wasn't sure until Tuesday morning. She was coughing, sneezing, and had a runny nose. I took her to the doctor yesterday; she has a viral infection. Unfortunately, they are still too young for antibiotics, so the doctor told me to give her saline spray and decongestant spray. Needless to say, our night was a bit rough with Whitney needing to have her nose suctioned throughout the night. We put her in the pack n play in our room for the night so we could keep a closer eye on her and to make it easier while tending to her during the night. Craig and I took shifts through the night.

We started taking extra precautions to keep the spread of germs at a minimum, but I guess it was too late because this morning when we got up, we discovered Hannah had it too. BIG SURPRISE! I guess Tyler will probably be next. Hopefully not!

This sickness brings out a whole new protective parenting thing - it makes you feel helpless as a parent because you just have to let it run its course. There is nothing worse than when your kids are sick. It is heart breaking to see them suffering and feeling so yukky especially when they can't really take anything.

Good news though, they slept through the night again for the fourth night in a row. I guess this new strategy is working! Thanks Jess!

Mama and her babies

I thought I would get a few more shots of me and my angels. Look at my big boy sitting up. He was a little upset after having a very traumatic bath. Life is so rough!

Mama giving Whitney smooches. My little blonde hair blue eyed girl!

My sweet girls. They both have their hand up by their face. They were both chewing on their hand, but I couldn't catch it on camera.
Mama giving Hannah some lovin' - LOVE those beautiful blue eyes! Just like her daddy!

Me and my little man - Tyler More beautiful eyes! Thanks Daddy!

My little man getting some kisses

Mama's full of kisses today - It's Hannah's turn --- Hannah also rolled over yesterday but we didn't see it, we just found her rolled over in bed. But today, she rolled over again and I MISSED IT! Craig saw her though. I am glad he got to see her roll over because he was bummed he missed out on her first time to laugh.

Family Day

Saturday we had a belated Mother's Day/birthday party for the May birthdays in our family. We had a good time visiting and having lasagna, cake and presents. It was also nice to have an extra set of hands to help feed the babies. There were enough hands to feed all of them, so Craig and I took a break! ha ha!

Here is Papa and Whitney. I wanted you to see how much Whitney looks like her Papa! Uncanny isn't it?

Here are some more cousins. These are Craig's sister, Lisa's kids. (L to R) Austin, Tyler, Samuel, Leah, Hannah, Victoria and Whitney. They were very excited to be able to hold them.

The babies were amazingly calm during this picture-taking adventure. We had to work quick because Samuel is on the go non-stop. See... he is about to take off.

I love this picture - Mama and Whitney cheek-to-cheek.

Later that afternoon, we took the kids to my brother's and SIL's (Kevin and Jill) to take some family pictures and pictures of the babies. Boy was that a challenge! We got there about 3pm and attempted to take some shots but the babies were so fussy, we had to put them down for a nap. We fed them around 4:30 or 5pm and tried it again. We got some good ones, but they were still pretty fussy. We weren't planning to stay until the next feeding, but we still had some more shots we wanted to get, so we ended up staying pretty late. We left around 9pm - got them fed at 8pm, took a few more pics loaded up our stuff and left. Sorry Kevin and Jill for staying so late! Thanks for taking pictures of us! We had fun!

We got home around 10pm, fed the kids one last time and put them to bed. They were SO tired it wasn't even funny. Poor babies, we ran them ragged yesterday. But GREAT news!!! They slept through the night for the first time. We had to get up a couple of times to tend to them, but we didn't feed them until 8am this morning. It was so nice!

Stay tuned for some of my favorite pics from yesterday. I can't wait to get them and finally get some birth announcements out too!

BFF's: Two new SIL's and a husband!

Jennifer came over this week and brought Samantha over for a play date and let her meet her husband to be and her sisters in law to be.

They weren't too happy squeezing all four of them in the chair.

They are getting more acquainted.

Hannah and Sam cheek to cheek!

The happy couple!

More 4 month pics - continuation from previous post

Okay... I don't know what has been going on with my last disk with pics on it. Every time I would try to load the disk and look at or up load any pics, my whole computer would lock up. Then, when I tried to save more pics to it, it wouldn't allow me to. I finally had to go to the desktop computer to get something accomplished. Although, it is still acting strange... For whatever reason, I couldn't rotate my pics either, so just turn your head sideways and look at them... You should be used to this, you've had to do it before. :) I'm feeling a bit computer illiterate!

On to the good stuff...

Hannah has had the most development this past week or so. I can't believe how much more she is doing. Like I said earlier in a previous post, she laughed out loud for the first time; she is also holding her head up a lot more! Used to, she would just lay her head down and chill. Now, every time I lay her on her tummy, she wants to look around and gets mad because she can't see. She also almost rolled over this afternoon. I had the video camera ready, but she didn't do it. I bet she will in know time. In this pic, she is staring at her mobile. She is becoming so aware of everything around her!

Doesn't she look so cute?!?

Okay... As I was going through all my recent pics, I noticed I don't have very many of my little man. I will have to take some more cute shots of him and post them later. But for now... this is Tyler very tired after taking a walk. The kids love to fall asleep in the Bjorn.

I don't think I have posted this one before... Tyler and his milk mustache.

Here is Whitney on a different day after taking a nice stroll through the neighborhood. So much for awake time!
I have began to introduce the kids to the bumbos. So far so good... Whitney doesn't look too happy in this pic, but they seem to be getting used to them and liking them more. They like to look around.

This is Whitney during a "dream feed". She told me she had a headache, so we put a cool wash cloth on her forehead. hee hee! Just kidding! That was my latest invention to getting them to wake up enough to eat through the "dream feed". Daddy and Whitney!

Happy Hannah!

Hannah laughed out loud this morning for the first time. It was SO cute! Made my day! She was the first of the three to laugh out loud. I was just sitting there playing with them shaking a rattle and she started laughing. Then, I think after she realized she was making that noise, she wanted to keep laughing. It was so funny! I hope Tyler and Whitney start laughing soon too. It sure makes up for all those sleepless nights! :)

I wish I had the video camera nearby, but unfortunately I didn't. I am going to try to get some video of it next time.

Four months!

The babies are turning 16 weeks old this week, and it is hard to believe. In a way, it seems like it has been an eternity, but in another sense, it seems like it has gone by fast. They are changing so much every week.

They are smiling and cooing more and more. We are beginning to have conversations with them now. I coo, they coo, I coo they coo... Up until a few days ago, they would just coo randomly; now they coo after I do. It is so cute!

They are starting to sit in their bumbos now. I can't believe they are already at this stage. Granted, they haven't mastered it yet, but they are getting there. We are also working on getting them to start grabbing and holding little toys.

They are becoming so much more alert and aware of their surroundings. They are almost too curious sometimes! This past week has been pretty rough because when I feed them by myself, it is hard to control their heads and keep them still long enough to eat. They are constantly moving them side to side to look around. I am glad that they are becoming so alert, but I would rather them eat first, then play! :) Tell me, Mommies... have you had this problem? If so, how do you get them to eat?

The girls are still not eating enough and seem to be stuck at waking us up at 5am or so and don't want to eat at 8am. I think Tyler might be ready to sleep through the night, but the girls wake us up every night. We are SO ready for a good nights sleep.

Tyler weighs roughly 11 or 12 pounds. He is such a happy boy. He smiles and coos all the time. Sometimes I can't hardly get him to finish his bottle because he wants to smile and smile at whoever is feeding him. He loves his bouncer, swing and being upright looking around and he loves to kick his feet. He hates baths and tummy time!

Whitney weighs about 10 pounds, but feels much lighter than a pound or two less than Tyler. She is so little. You would think she is starving herself with the amount she eats on a daily basis. She smiles some, and I haven't heard her cooing yet. She likes to lock her legs and stand up in your lap - my guess is she will be walking first. She loves her bouncer, swing and being upright. She also loves to stare at lights and the ceiling fan. She doesn't like tummy time either....go figure. Whitney is a little grumpy sometimes - she is our little diva!

Hannah weighs about the same as Whitney...maybe a little more. She is around 10 pounds. She is smiling and cooing so much more. When she coos, it is so cute because she will coo with a little milk left over in the back of her throat and it makes a gurgling sound. Hannah pretty much loves everything except reflux. She loves tummy time, and everything her siblings love. She is still having problems with reflux and that is about the only time she cries. She is such an easy going baby. Oh... and she loves to sleep! Baths don't phase her; if she loses her paci or spits up, you wouldn't know it because she doesn't usually fuss.
Hannah sleeping like a log...as usual. She didn't want to get up to eat. That girl can sleep through anything.
Sweet Hannah has found her hand and loves to suck her hand and fingers. She goes to town! So cute!

We are getting out more which is hard but worth it to me. The kids are getting more used to their car seats and don't scream and cry as much.

If anybody has any suggestions to help them eat better without being so distracted and to sleep through the night, let me know.
I planned to put some more pictures on here for you to see but every time I try to upload them, my whole computer locks up, so these two of Hannah are it for now. I'll try again later.

Mother's Day - my FOUR angels

My mother's day was a great one! First, my wonderful husband let me sleep in while he took care of the kid's 8 am feeding. It was SOOO nice to sleep in a little bit. Thank you Honey!

Then, we loaded up the kids and met my family at the park. It was such a nice day out, but a little difficult with the kids because they aren't used to being out much...they were out of their norm I guess. Even though it was a bit of a challenge to feed the kids in the park and get them to nap, I was really glad we went.

Then, later that night, I got a massage by my One and Only, Craig. It was so relaxing and enjoyable.

My hubby also got me a gift card to get me some more clothes. I am in dire need of some new clothes...can't fit into most of mine! So, today I went on a shopping spree!

I greatly appreciate the loving words and wishes from family and friends wishing me a happy mother's day! Thank you for thinking of me!

On a different note, I want to take this time to remember and acknowledge my "Angel". Some of you may not know, but this year marked my second mother's day, although last year I wasn't celebrating mother's day much from the mother standpoint - only from the daughter standpoint.

Craig and I conceived "Angel" in March of 2007, but unfortunately it wasn't in God's plan for "Angel" to be with us on earth as "she" miscarried very early on in April. We miss her and think of ourselves as the parents to four children and we can't wait to meet her in heaven one day. I just want to publicly acknowledge you, dearest "Angel" and let you know we haven't forgotten you and never will.

"Friends" Marathon!!!

These past few months have been pretty rough to say the least with feeding every three hours and going on very little sleep, so we have been in need of some comic relief. So...nothing better than "Friends". Craig and I have been having a "Friends" marathon for the past few months. He bought me the set of all 10 seasons for Christmas...I've been wanting it for ages. Since Craig wasn't a "Friends" fanatic, he hasn't seen very many episodes. He's been missing out huh? Of course, I have seen ALL the episodes, but you can never get enough "Friends"!

Cousins!!

Maddie had her hands full! She is getting good practice for babysitting later! Ha!

The girls loved holding the babies, except when they wouldn't stop crying of course!

Maddie always wants to hold and play with Hannah because Hannah Montana is her hero!

They really enjoyed helping me feed them and hold their paci's in their mouths.

3 Months

The kids turned three months old a few weeks ago. They are changing so much, I can't believe it.

Hannah always wants to lay down... See she is leaning and on her way down. My little sleepy head.
Amazingly, I was able to get a few pictures of Whitney NOT crying! She is a happy baby, but it seems like every time I take her picture, she is crying.

Doesn't Tyler look like such a little man??? He is sitting up so well!

Happy Babies!

So... I haven't given you an update in quite a while now... Where does the time go?

They are doing well! Tyler is growing like crazy! He is so big - weighing in at around 11 or 12 pounds. He is such a happy baby. He smiles the most and it just melts our heart. A lot of times, he doesn't even want to eat because he is too busy smiling at whoever is feeding him. So cute!

Hannah is also starting to smile more and more and it is so sweet. She weighs around 9 1/2 pounds or so. She isn't as eager to eat as Tyler is... She has reflux and I think if it didn't bother her, she would eat more. :( Hopefully her medicine will help!

Whitney is our little terd. She doesn't like to eat much! She plays around when it is time to eat. She would rather look around. I worry about her sometimes because she doesn't eat like she should, but I guess if she were hungry enough, she would eat. She weighs around 9 pounds or so.

They are wearing us out...still not sleeping through the night, but they are worth it. Maybe one of these days we will sleep again.
