Lots of fun!

Be sure and scroll down and see another post I did today. You know me...I like to do multiple posts in one day!

Princess Hannah Leia
Tyler's (and the girl's) favorite thing...eating the toys instead of playing with them.

Such a sweet and happy baby! Pretty smile.

Daddy getting some cuddle time with Whitney.

Daddy cuddling with Hannah.

Tyler's shorts exploded!
My sweet, BIG boy!

Maggie's (my niece) first birthday was this weekend. This is her cupcake cake.

This is the birthday girl. Hard to believe it has already been a year since I watched her being born! Aren't those the most beautiful sunflowers??? Michaela is growing those in her back yard.

All the "A" cousins. Ten kids looking 10 different directions! Complete madness!

Just an ordinary day of tummy time.

Look who is sitting now! My Hannah girl!

Hannah is sitting like Tyler was when he was just a mere lad. :) :) Now, he is an old pro.
Hope you two don't fall and headbutt.
Whitney is so serious.
Y0u put your left arm in... you put your left arm out... you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around...that's what its all about.

My twinkies holding hands.
My coordinating trio.
Big brother Tyler has his arms around his little sisters. He is already being the protective big brother.
Tyler, Hannah and my foot (have you noticed my feet are in a lot of the pics?)
Tyler and Whitney alert as ever.

Swimming with bumbos!

So, I had this idea to try sitting the babies up in their bumbos in a swimming pool. So, we went to Target and bought one of those plastic pools for 7 bucks. And before you worry warts email me to tell me how unsafe it is, know that I had Craig here with me so we had an extra set of hands and eyes on the babies the entire time. I would never try to do this by myself.

Anyway, they REALLY enjoyed this! Their weight pretty much made the bumbos sit flat on the bottom of the pool. I think next time I will put a little less water and it will probably work better. I couldn't really get them to look up at me much because they were so busy checking out the pool/water/bumbos combination. After spending time sitting in their bumbos, we took them out one by one to let them kick their legs and splash the water. It was so much fun!

Lacy thinks this is her new water bowl!

Drying off!

More of our weekend

So, I already posted about our Friday (see previous post), now on to Saturday and Sunday. Daddy is getting some quality time with all of his babies, Lacy included. Daddy and Tyler are laughing at something... not sure what.

We took them to the pool for the second time and it wasn't quite as fun as the first time, but not bad. Which is the reason I only have one picture of Hannah at the pool and none of Tyler and Whitney.

Sunday, my long-time friend Kelli from high school and her family came by to visit and meet the babies. They just moved back to Texas from Tennessee and we are so glad they are back. It was so much fun visiting with them.

Our weekend

Friday after Craig got off work, we took the babies to the family festivities in McKinney. It was quite an eventful afternoon to say the least. We got there, unloaded everybody and all of their necessities. Got a million stares, pointing fingers and comments. Found something to eat. Got a million stares, pointing fingers and comments. Found a place to sit. Got a million stares, pointing fingers and comments. Got sat down and started eating our sandwiches. Then the band who was playing at the time announced that the storm headed toward us would be here in a short amount of time and we needed to take shelter. He said it was going to be a short-lived storm so we decided to scarf down our food and head for the car. So, we did and headed for the car. Got a million stares, pointing fingers and comments. Loaded everybody and their necessities back up in the car and waited for the storm to pass. The storm was moving very slowly so we hung out in the car for a while waiting for it to give us a down pour. We fed the babies in the car and finally decided it wasn't going to rain. The storm had shifted a little and just missed us I guess, so we decided to get back out and try it again. I thought to myself, "as soon as we get out of the car, it is going to rain." Sure enough... we got everybody and all of their necessities unloaded and it started to sprinkle. So back in the car we went. We loaded everybody and their necessities. We sat in the car for a while longer, then Craig and I hung out outside the car because the babies were starting to get fussy...well...actually, they were screaming and we didn't want to listen to them. Finally, it stopped sprinkling (that is all it ever did, all that trouble and it never rained) so we decided to unload everybody and their necessities. As we were doing that, Tyler started choking and foaming at the mouth and nose! Craig had the carseat turned upside down with him in it trying to open his airway while I tried to rip him out of the carseat! Poor boy had gotten so upset! We got him suctioned and calmed down and headed back down to get a spot to sit and listen to music and wait for the fireworks. Got a million stares, pointing fingers and comments. We decided we wanted to get some water and something else to eat. We stand in line for a good while. Got a million stares, pointing fingers and comments. Finally get to the front of the line....guess what, NO WATER LEFT! We're dying of thirst here people! And we are not standing in another line! So, we head off to find a place to sit. Got a million stares, pointing fingers and comments. We no more than sat down for 2 minutes and somebody headed toward us. "You did not carry those babies?" I said no I didn't... She said " I didn't think so because you couldn't have and look like that." I said well actually I did. She said "How did you lose the weight?" She goes on and on with the questions. Then she asked me if she could hold one. "Uh... no..." She was understanding about it and not offended. Then she heads back over to her table and a little while later I watched her light up a cigarette. "Are you kidding me?" A smoking stranger asked to hold my baby??? So, anyway, we were sitting there listening to music and Craig had the idea that we leave just before the fireworks start and go watch them in our church parking lot which was very close to where we were. This way we could beat the crowd and if the babies freaked out by the noise, we would be at a distance and could put them in the car. Made sense, but I thought to myself, "If we do that, as soon as we head out, the fireworks will start." So we head back to the car. Got a million stares, pointing fingers and comments. Got to the car and loaded everybody and their necessities. Head out and sure enough, the fireworks started. Of course! So, Craig pulled off on the side of the road so we could watch them standing outside of the car with the kids screaming inside. Just not how I had imagined it! See, the kids didn't nap well while we were out because they were too busy checking out their new surroundings. After the fireworks were over we headed home and got the screaming kids inside, made bottles and fed them real quick and put their little tired butts to bed.

So, there you have it...

A gazillion stares, pointing fingers and comments. We loaded and unloaded 4 times and would you like to know what all we loaded and unloaded a few times too many?
-3 babies
-3 carseats
-2 strollers
-2 baby bjorn carriers
-1 diaper bag with tons of stuff in it
-2 fold up chairs
-1 camera
-1 blanket
-2 tired parents

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to you all! I hope you are having a fun-filled day with your families. What a special day today is. Not only is today the day our country celebrates its independence, this is also the day I found out I was pregnant one year ago. I remember it like it was yesterday.

It was almost time to test again, but I was only supposed to test when Craig was home, so in case it was negative AGAIN I wouldn't be alone. Craig had to work...big surprise right? So, I waited as long as I could and of course I couldn't wait until he got home because I really wanted to be able to surprise Craig with the news when he got home IF I were to be pregnant. I remember I bought him an expecting card and put it in the refrigerator where he would see it first thing when he came home and opened the fridge for a glass of tea. I was so excited I could hardly keep a straight face. Actually, I had to stay in the other room where he couldn't see me because I couldn't hold a straight face. He came in and opened the fridge like he always does and he DIDN'T even see the card. I was thinking "you've got to be kidding me!!!" I had been waiting all day for him to get home, he got home late as usual and then he didn't see it. Then he said he was going to go take a shower and get cleaned up. I remember trying to do things to get him back in the fridge. I tried to convince him to eat some dinner. That didn't work, so I asked him if he would get me something to drink and he still didn't see it. Then he goes to take a shower. I couldn't take it anymore. I thought, "he is never going to see the card". I decided to forget surprising him, and I just took the card to him before he got in the shower. I remember I said with tears in my eyes, "you are ruining the surprise" Like he knew there was a surprise... So he said, "what???" And I said "I'm pregnant" and proceeded to tell him what I had done with putting the card in the refrigerator. He told me I put the card on the shelf at my eye level not his eye level. So next time, I will put a card on his eye level. But hopefully I won't have anymore of those type of surprises for him! HA! At least not any time soon!

So, today, a year later after finding out I was pregnant, but had no idea with three, I am hanging out here at home with my three beautiful, healthy babies and it is just surreal to me. I would have never thought I would be a mom to triplets. Yes, I did have a feeling there was more than one baby, but I was thinking two, not three. But, today, I couldn't imagine it any other way. I know cliche' right?

So, the kids and I are just hanging out at home waiting for Craig to get home from work so maybe we can do something fun on this special day.

Enjoy your day!

5 Months old already!

Please note, there is a post below this one, so scroll down to see it.

Hannah is SUCH a happy baby! She even gets mad when she is being forced to take her bottle. She wakes up SO happy every morning and could just play and play in her crib for who knows how long if I didn't get her out to feed her. Hannah is so hooked on her fingers - she loves to suck on them when she doesn't have her paci and she tries to put everything in her mouth if it gets in the near vicinity of her mouth. If I tickle her cheeks, she opens her mouth real wide; if I wipe her mouth with a burp cloth or her bib, she opens her mouth real wide. So cute!

Tyler is getting stronger and getting better and better at sitting up. He told me he wanted to take his 5 month picture sitting up to show off what a big boy he is. Can you guess what Tyler is doing in the second picture???? You got it....he is looking at the TV. That boy...loves to watch the TV. Tyler is in the habit of waking up after only napping for 30 minutes - 1 hour. It is making nap time miserable these days. I've had to separate him and Whitney because they always wake each other up. Also, I think Tyler is already starting to have separation anxiety. He cries when I leave the room or walk away from him where he can't see me. It is sweet, but boy is it going to be difficult when all three of them are doing this.

Whitney is presently enjoying her baths. I don't know what happened but it was like I flipped the light switch and she became more happy and content overnight. Speaking of water, we took the babies to the pool for the first time last weekend and surprisingly, they enjoyed it, even Tyler and he HATES his baths. They were so cute floating around in their floats. Sorry, no pictures - I will have to get some next time. It was so much fun to take them to the pool and be out of the house doing something different.

Current weights:

Tyler weighs around 14 pounds
Hannah around 12 pounds
Whitney around 11 3/4 pounds

They are STILL in their 0-3 month clothes! Tyler is about to be too big for his so we will have to move him to the next size, but the girls still have a little bit to go.
