And the verdict is....

We had our 16 week perinatal appointment this morning. And guess what........ the babies are ALL BOYS! I guess her initial prediction was wrong! We were so shocked because she was so positive they were 2 girls and a boy. I don't know what we are going to do with the nursery because it has pink in it!! I guess we will switch up the colors some, but I don't feel like painting right now, considering we just finished the nursery. Besides that BIG shock, all the little guys look great! All their measurements, organs and weights look perfect. Two of them weigh 5 ounces and one weighs 6 ounces. The placenta has moved up, so no more placenta previa! I can go back to my regular activity.

Both, my mom and Craig's mom came to this appointment and they really enjoyed it. My mom had never seen a sonogram before, so she was in complete amazement with the modern-day technology. I am glad they were both able to come and see the babies moving around. It is completely different from looking at the pictures.

In baby B's picture, you can see somebody in the background. She took a picture of all three of them in one shot. I am not sure what body parts they are, but they are all in there. Some of you have asked about names, and no we still haven't given it much thought. :) I guess we really need to start thinking about names huh...

Here are some pictures of our too-girly-with-no-girls nursery!

Lacy thinks this is her new room. :)

Last but not least, my lovely weekly belly shot!

Oh and by the way... I was just kidding about the 3 boys part. We are for sure having 2 girls and 1 boy! Baby A is our boy and Baby B & C are our girls. I just wanted to see if I could fool you! :) Having a little Amy Fools fun.

15 weeks

My belly looks about the same, but it feels so much bigger. It feels like my stomach wants to explode but my skin is say no. My back pain has increased a lot these past few days! I hope this is just a brief phase I am going through.

I am having a root canal done in about a week. :( I am pretty nervous about it. I have heard they aren't that bad, but I have also heard the horror stories. Please keep me and the munchkins in your prayers.

We got the nursery almost finished. Craig got the clouds done; now we just have one more thing to do and it will be finished. Well...finished as far as painting. We still have to furnish and decorate it.
I'll send you some pics of the finished product.

Oh... and on another note, we sold the Saturn! Yay! We are so thrilled to have it sold! Gotta love Craig's List! A BIG thanks to Craig's brother in law, Byron who listed it for us. We listed it, but got no responses, but for whatever reason, when Byron listed it, we got tons of responses. Guess you just gotta know how to word it just right! :)

We have another peri appointment this Thursday. This should be fun because both the grandmothers are coming to the appointment with us. I am sure Dr. Koster will give us a 100% prediction of the babies sexes. I hope the prediction stays the same because we have already painted. Considering she has seen them more than once, and is still saying the same thing...2 girls one boy, we feel pretty confident.

I'll have more fun sono pictures for you to see... and probably the nursery pics as well.

More "taking it easy"...

I am a little discouraged because my spotting came back. It had stopped a few days after my appointment last week, but it came back. :( I am a disappointed because I have stuff I want to do like finish painting the nursery. I started it Sunday but I didn't do much; I still have a lot left to do. I also need to clean my house... "Monica" is getting really tired of living in the filth. And probably only a few of you know who "Monica" is, so I will explain. Many years ago some of my friends nicknamed me "Monica" after Monica Geller from Friends because I am about as anal as she is regarding cleanliness. Anywho... I talked to Koster again today and she told me not to get too discouraged because she felt sure that with a little more time, the placenta will move off my cervix and everything will be fine. She said sometimes it just takes longer than others. I am not on house arrest, I can still do things around the house and I can leave the house to run short errands or have a social life, but I can't do as much as I normally would. She said not to worry, I will not be bedridden the rest of my pregnancy.

Other than that, I am having some more evident back pain, a mild pain in my belly from stretching and some achy feet and ankles but other than that, I am doing well. I am not complaining, just really surprised all of these symptoms are starting so soon! :) I guess I can't expect anything less with three babies growing inside me! Oh... almost forgot... a couple of nights ago, I think I could feel one of them. I haven't felt any movement or kicks or anything, but I had a really hard knot in part of my lower stomach. I really don't think it was any organs or anything. It was pretty cool! I can't wait to start feeling them move!

On another note... I thought I would show you a picture of the changing table my aunt gave us. It is really cute. I found some cute little baskets at Babies R Us that I think will go great on the shelves. I like the white, but it doesn't go with the rest of the nursery. The other furniture will be a honey oak color. I was planning to paint it, but now I am thinking about just leaving it white and incorporating some white accessories in the nursery. Let me know what you think! Paint it? Don't paint it?

Who is sitting on my bladder?

These past couple of days, I have had the urge to urinate frequently. I don't know if it is from the hormones and increased blood flow (my heart is working and beating hard) or if the babies are getting big enough to put pressure on my bladder. At my last appointment, they said the babies each weigh 3 ounces, which is a lot more than what my books says they should weigh at this time. So, maybe it is the babies putting pressure on my bladder. I know excessive urination is normal and can start very early in a pregnancy, but I never really had that symptom. It is already getting more difficult to get up frequently, I can't imagine what it will be like when I am really big.

I am 14 weeks now and I am seeing a little more growth in my belly. The growth seems to have slowed over the past several weeks, but I can still tell it is growing. I put on some of my maternity capris I bought early in the last pregnancy and they were very snug. It may not look any different to you, but I definitely can feel it.

My comfy chair came in and boy is it yellow! I like it, but it is very bold. I think maybe a chair with a less subtle pattern and multi colors might have been a better choice (kinda like the pillow pattern and colors). Although, all they really had to choose from was solids... Craig said we no longer need to use the lights in the living room... The chair is bright enough to light up the room. It does go well with our furniture and it flows throughout the great room nicely.

We still haven't ordered a dresser or anything for the nursery. I am not sure when we will be able to do that. Craig is working all weekend again. My aunt is giving me my cousin's changing table. It is white...hopefully we can get the finish off and stain it to match everything else. We weren't going to buy a changing table, but since they offered it to us, we thought why not.

Our cribs should be coming in pretty soon. A couple more weeks and they will be here. I hope we have the nursery painted by then because you know me, I will be ready to put the cribs together as soon as we get them.

I am just taking it easy for a couple more days and then I am going to try to get back to my to do list. These past few days I have spent a lot of time at home and it has given me the chance to go through paper work and do a little reading. I don't know what I am going to do when I go on strict bedrest for an extended period of time. Just "slowing down" for a few days has been real difficult for me.

Another scare...

Oh.... The ups and downs of a multiple pregnancy. I woke up this morning to another scary surprise. Sorry in advance for the graphics, you may want to skip ahead to the next paragraph. I discovered I was bleeding. I immediately called Craig and my doctor and began freaking out. It wasn't too heavy but not just a few drops. And it was the scary color (red) not brown.

I couldn't imagine why this was happening because I was just there yesterday and they all looked perfect. I finally got in touch with my doctor about an hour later. I got in for an appointment about an hour after that. My perinatalogist believes the bleeding is coming from the fact that one of the placentas is overlaying on the cervix, but good news, she does believe the cervix is closed. She said this is pretty common and once my uterus continues to grow, the placenta will reposition and move a little higher. She wants me to take it easy for the next 4 or 5 days and not do too much. She wants me staying off my feet for the most part. She believes within about a week, everything will be fine and I will be able to go back to my normal routine and activities. She also said I have a very long cervix and she thinks I was made to carry triplets! Funny huh? Other than that, everything looks fine with the babies. I did get better sono pictures, so I will leave you with that. Oh and she still thinks the babies sexes are 2 girls and 1 boy.

Another doctor appointment and all is going well

I had my appointment with my OB today and everything went very well. The babies all look great. They are all kicking and squirming around. We could see all their little bones and spine and everything. Pretty cool but also pretty weird looking. The sono tech gave her predictions of the sexes of the babies and her predictions were the same as the peri's. I didn't tell her what the peri predicted beforehand because we didn't want to sway her predictions. She was definitely for sure about baby A being a boy. She was pretty sure about baby C being a girl but was totally guessing about baby B being a girl. As of right now, it looks like our boy is the most active of the bunch. He was all over the place. Here is a picture of baby A...

Baby B was giving her the biggest trouble. She was squished between the other two and it was very hard to get anything on her.

Baby C was so cute in this picture she has her hands up by her face. It looked a little like she was sucking her thumb. I think this was the best picture out of all of them. I was a little disappointed at the views during this sonogram because they were so hard to make out. I wish she would have done all of the pictures like baby C - one shot per picture.

An update on me... my blood pressure is still excellent. Hopefully my history of very good blood pressure will help later in the pregnancy. My weight gain is improving a lot! I have gained 4 pounds just since my last appointment a week and a half ago! And Craig says I am not gaining enough... Oh and I did get clarification of my true initial pregnancy weight. It is just as I figured, the weight they started counting was my weight at my first official maternity visit. They don't take into consideration the weight I was two or three weeks before when I was pregnant and had to come in early for the spotting. So, since the beginning I have gained 8 pounds, maybe even more if you count my weight at the very beginning before I graduated from the fertility doctor. I feel so much better about the weight issue. I was thinking there is no way I have only gained a pound...with my stomach the size it is.

Oh... and we did get all the furniture moved around this weekend. I am very surprised and pleased with how well everything fits. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to seem much more cluttered with wall-to-wall furniture and I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to find a place to store small things in the closets. I guess my organizational skills are paying off. :)

That is about all for now... I have my MOM's meeting tomorrow night, so I will let you know how that goes.

Who says I don't work...I work, I just don't get paid

Another very busy week behind us. Craig worked all weekend over Labor Day weekend, which kind of stinks but it is nice he is able to get the overtime to help pay for the necessary extras we have recently purchased. I have been busy as all get out trying to get more things done before the bedrest starts. Monday, I got most of my registering done. That was a HUGE accomplishment. It was so busy in the stores on Labor Day! It took many many hours (9 or 10) to get finished, but I think most of it is done.

Tuesday, I spent much of the day running errands...other errands besides planning-for-babies-errands. My brother is about to get married early next month and I needed to get some things done for their special day. We are so excited for them. He is marrying such a wonderful person. I couldn't be happier with the woman he has chosen and I can't wait for the wedding day and for her to be a part of our family.

Wednesday, Craig took the day off work to take care of some final business with the new car. We also spent the day doing a little furniture shopping for the nursery, taking care of some paper work at the hospital and of course we had to run by Babies R Us (my home away from home). We found some furniture we liked at a couple of places, but we didn't make any decisions. I am going to check out Craigslist and a couple of other places first before we make any decisions. We did so much running...with the car, the shopping, taking care of the other car...then, that evening, I went out with the girls to David's Bridal. Kim (my SIL to be) was being fitted for the final time before the BIG day. Then, we had dinner afterwards and just had a good time being girls.

Okay...so by Thursday, I was exhausted. I needed a day of rest. I did have a few things planned to do around the house. My poor disastrous house...all of this errand-running has left my house pretty neglected. My mom stopped by, so we had a good visit. She spent the entire afternoon at my house, so we got the chance to catch up. It was the perfect day to sit and visit. And as you know, Thursdays are my weekly belly shot day. I didn't take it until today (Saturday), but I don't think it will make much of a difference. But...here ya go...

This is 13 wks 3 days

Michaela finished re-upholstering my free glider so I went and picked it up on Friday. It looks soooo much better! Thank you Michaela!

I am getting ready to paint next week, so are trying to get the nursery cleaned out. Friday after work, Craig was able to get the furniture arranged in the office, to be able to put the bed, from the guest bedroom, in it. The office will now be the office/guest bedroom. Today, (Saturday) I got a lot accomplished as far as organizing the closets. I got the office/guest bedroom closet organized and cleaned out; I moved the stuff out of the closet in the nursery and put it in various places...either the office closet or our closet; I got our closet organized (so to speak), mostly stuffed full of all of "our" (Craig's) stuff. He has A LOT of stuff! So now all we have left to do before we can paint is move the bed out of the nursery and into the office/guest, and move two other pieces of furniture out of there and into our closet. YES... you heard me correctly...two other pieces of furniture are being moved into our closet! It is complete craziness! We have too much furniture for this tiny house! It is going to get pretty crowded here when the babies arrive. This moving shouldn't take too long because I have already done the part that takes so much time...the organizing. I would like to paint Monday or Tuesday but Craig is working all weekend again this weekend and we have a pretty full social calendar in the evenings all weekend, so we'll see.

I think my weight issue is improving some, but we will see what the doctor's scales say on Monday. I have another doctor's appointment then. I have been watching my weight at home and it seems to be going up, so that's good. And yes, I am planning to ask my doctor for permission to paint before doing so. I will give you more updates about my doctor's appointment and my next MOM's meeting next week. Hopefully, it will be very informative and beneficial because I will probably only be able to go to one more (maybe two) after this one.
