First Day of School

The kids started pre-school/MDO in early January. I found a program I really love! They only go one time a week but I plan to put them in twice a week in the Fall. The MDO director has made this transition so smooth and easy for ALL of us! I am so grateful to have found such a great school and church. The kids go to MDO at the same place that we go to MOPS and this is also the church we've been visiting (that will likely be our new church home), so this has also helped them transition so easily.

Here are their backpacks lined up and ready to go!

Craig took off work the first day of school to help me get them to school and while they were in school, we enjoyed some time to ourselves. We were late getting to school the first day because of an accident and the highway being shut down so there weren't many pictures being taken. Here we are getting out of the car, backpacks on and napmats in hand.
The drop off in their classroom.

It has been 3 weeks now since they started and things are going great. The school has a curb drop off in the mornings and I figured it would be a couple of months before we tried this because they and I wouldn't be ready for that. After only 2 weeks, I dropped them off at the curb on week 3. We can thank the cold weather and the logistics of getting 3 bundled up 2 year olds, 3 backpacks and 3 napmats across the street, for being the cause of pushing this sooner than expected. They did great walking in the school with the teachers and nobody cried!

Making a Difference

In addition to potty training, I have been very busy spending my time researching and focusing on various different things - what we eat being the main one. Some other things I have been focusing my time and energy researching include: coupons, cookware, T.V. education, painting/decorating kid's rooms and selling various baby things.

Update on me: Many of you probably know I haven't been feeling well the past few months and this has undoubtedly jump started my motivation to research and change our diets in our house. Finding out what exactly it is that we are putting in our bodies was a goal I planned to achieve shortly after finishing school and my not feeling well has definitely caused this to become one of my top priorities. I would also like to update that I have been feeling much better. Not sure that it was caused from a change in diet (as I started feeling better before I really changed my diet) or if it was from the medication my doctor prescribed me. She thought I had gastritis (sp?) an irritation of the lining of the stomach.

Food changes: I know many of you have wanted to know what all I have done as far as food changes go so here goes. First, I am so lucky to have friends that I can go to for resources and tips. This can be such a overwhelming thing to take on and I have procrastinated because I simply didn't know where to start. So most of my info is coming from my friends who have educated me and I wanted to share what I have learned with all of you and hope you can take something from it.

I am still in the process of really researching what certain "bad food ingredients" are, what they are used for and what they do to the body. I will go ahead and share what I am working on eliminating from or at least limiting from our diet. If you google "bad food ingredients" it will pull up a whole slew of things and almost everyone has HFCS (high fructose corn syrup), MSG, hydrogenated oils/transfat, nitrates, aspartame among many others at the top of the list. Many websites will give a short description of what each of these actually is etc. I also found several links like the one below that actually lists the foods in a chart format and tells what it is, what it is used for, what it does to your body. http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/health/9-ingredients-to-avoid-in-processed-foods-1268429/

I have gradually been finishing off many foods in my pantry and fridge that have these ingredients in most of them. I can't bring myself to throw them away. :) As I run out of things, I am replacing them with a much healthier version. So, for now, the things I am reducing/eliminating from our diet include: foods with transfats and/or hydrogenated oils, MSG, nitrates, HFCS, preservatives, hormone induced poultry and beef, artificial sweetener, premade or boxed foods. Really trying to cut down on the processed foods.

I have switched from canned veggies to frozen or fresh (mainly frozen) due to the BPA found in cans and also because veggies are more fresh if frozen or fresh out of the produce because many canned vegetables lose nutrients. Again, I am no expert at this - I am just starting my research, this is just what I have learned thus far.

Peanut butter, jelly, syrup (I buy pure maple syrup), honey (I buy the N. Dallas Honey Co. honey in the orange label), bread, ketchup, chips, crackers - there are options that do not have HFCS, preservatives, hydrogenated oils etc. in them and even at the regular ole grocery store. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to start shopping at certain stores to find these items. If you would like specifics of certain brands of foods that don't have these bad food ingredients, I will gladly share.

Flour - I currently have bleached flour (bad bad bad) in my pantry and have been using it up but after that no more. I will primarily use wheat flour but also do combine all purpose flour (unbleached) when I make waffles or muffins from scratch. Speaking of waffles and muffins, I have started making them from scratch rather than buying the pre-made kind. Saves money and so much healthier. I took this idea from my friend who makes hers in bulk and freezes them; then thaws them when ready to eat. I spent several hours a couple days last week making muffins and waffles but it will last me a while. I found a couple of muffin recipes I like and got a waffle/pancake recipe from a friend. I will share if interested.

Also I would like to point out that this isn't necessarily a low calorie or the lowest calorie diet possible; just a healthier, more natural way of eating. I always thought our diet wasn't "that bad" but little did I know how much crap was in the foods we were eating. We are trying to eat whole wheat & whole grains pasta, bread, brown rice. And brown sugar over white sugar when possible. Also, chips... I bought some chips and was in too big a hurry to really look over the label while at the store. I bought baked chips and regular chips and noticed when I got home that the baked chips which are lower in calories, have MSG, dyes, artificial colors and flavors and a ton of other ingredients in them, and the "On The Border Cantina Thins" have no hydrogenated oils, no artificial flavors or colors, low sodium, and are gluten free. These chips have 20 more calories per serving than the baked but with much fewer junk in them. The baked chips have at least 20 ingredients and the OTB chips have less than 6 ingredients. The less ingredients, the better. **Update** I've seen a drastic change in the ingredients in chips. Seems like 2 years ago when I first started researching, Lays had hydrogenated oils in them but just this week (3/19/12) I was at the store looking at several bags of chips and noticed lots more healthy(ier) choices.

Spaghetti sauce, sloppy joe sauce... you can either buy a healthier version or make your own from scratch. Salt and sugar, I just try to cut down on both of these and buy items with low or no salt and low or no sugar. I am kinda jumping all over right now, but you have to watch your labels because they can call some ingredients by different names and if you aren't careful, you could be eating the things you think you are avoiding.

Nitrates are found in a lot of lunch meats, hotdogs - packaged meats. Just look for the labeling to read "nitrate/nitrite free". Same with other foods - just look for the label to say "no MSG, no hydrogenated oils, no HFCS" etc. I buy all my meats at Whole Foods except lunch meat. Hormel in the brown box can be found at Kroger and is Nitrate free.

We have also started buying chicken and beef that is not hormone induced. Grass fed beef, USDA organic eggs. We eat USDA organic yogurt (Stonyfield brand) - yoplait etc is loaded with dyes, sugar, HFCS and junk. Milk and cheese - I still buy the regular stuff because I read the label that says my milk has no rbst hormone in it. The jury is still out on this decision... but for now we are sticking with the regular milk/cheese rather than organic. **Update** We do USDA organic milk now.

Craig and I have tossed up the idea of buying meat and possibly some fruits/veggies from a local farmers market or local farmers who sell to the public. I found a website called Local Harvest where you can put in your zip code and find local farmers that will sell to you. Click here for the link. We have also talked about him hunting year round and eating only wild meat that is truly eating organically and not being pumped full of hormones and chemicals. We have also tossed around the idea of having our own garden with a few fruits and veggies, although I don't know that this is something I have the time to take on. The jury is still out on fresh produce and whether or not to go organic on that. I have heard about the "organic" label controversy. Organic is much more expensive and I don't want to buy organic if it isn't truly organic. It is sad that we can't 100% trust the food labels but ultimately it all comes down to money and it seems that is all the food industry is driven by is --- $$$ and not healthy eating.

TV Education: We have also been watching several food documentaries - one being Food Inc., another - Food Matters and also I now record and watch the Dr. Oz show every day. Food Inc. is very eye-opening and really gives a good explanation as to how our beef, poultry, grains and fruits and veggies are being produced in such a non-organic way and only because $$$ is the primary concern. Producing in the fastest and cheapest way to turn the biggest profit is #1 in their eyes. I would encourage you to watch it if you haven't already. Food Matters is also a good film discussing similar topics in addition to prescription drugs vs. natural, healthy diet and vitamins to help heal the ill. Lastly, the Dr. Oz show has awesome demonstrations that really helps one to better understand the way things with the body work - his show is interesting and never boring. He discusses everything from health concerns such as GI problems to neurological from PMS to you name it. He discusses vitamins and what you should take at different ages. He gives tips on how to handle certain fruits and veggies to rid them of the majority of the pesticides found on them. I can share if interested - just LMK. Oh and PS, speaking of vitamins... check your multi vitamin labels you are giving to your kids. Chances are, if you are buying it from Target or Walmart or some place similar, it has HFCS in it. I buy my kids' vitamins at the Vitamin Shoppe and chose one that they recommended which doesn't have HFCS in it.

Cookware: Dr. Oz discusses what types of cookware to use... Which is something else we are looking to replace soon. All our cookware is Teflon and some are even chipped up - I have thrown away 2 pans thus far. The jury is still out on this as well as to what to get. I'm open to any tips any of you have on this or anything I have discussed. **Update** We bought hard anodized nonstick cookware, after lots of research. Easy to clean but isn't like teflon.

Plastics: Another thing I learned from Dr. Oz... plastics (I have learned so much just in the few weeks I have been watching, my head is spinning trying to store it all)... We haven't decided to do away with our plastic food storage containers just yet but I did take a quick inventory and made sure none of them have a #3 or #7 in the triangle. These plastics may let off dangerous chemicals like BPA. Good rule of thumb - don't put hot foods in plastics as the food will melt the chemicals out of the plastic and in the food and don't microwave food in plastic containers. **Update** We still use plastic occasionally to store food but for the most part I use pyrex glass containers.

Coupons: Another big thing I have been wanting to do for a while, and have attempted in the past but always failed, is clipping coupons. I can see that every little bit helps and if you take a little extra time to organize this, it can really help save money. Again, I got several of my resources from a friend and I will share with you some links on here. Money Saving Mom is a fabulous resource. This website has printable coupons, deals that stores like Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens are having, recipes and much more. There are even direct links on here where you can read and print off different store's coupon policy to have with you in the event a store doesn't want to honor your coupon. You can also print off coupons here for Target coupons. coupons.com and afullcup.com are also awesome websites to print coupons on. I could go into some tips for clipping coupons but this post is really long and you probably already know the tricks to save the most anyway. :) Shop where coupons can be doubled, double up on mfg. and store coupons, use coupon on an item on sale etc. **Update** I am not a good couponer... I try to save some here and there but not much.

Misc.: In addition to all this, I have been busy with selling various baby items, Craigslist shopping for some furniture for the girl's room, painting and decorating the kid's rooms (the girl's room is finished, btw and Tyler's is almost finished - pics to come soon) and have just enrolled (all be it late) myself and the trio in a MOPS group in Allen to which I am very excited to start this coming Friday.

I would love to hear from you and hear any thoughts/tips you would like to share on anything I discussed.

As a stay at home mom, I am excited about making these life-changes and am going to try to stick with it as much as I can. Providing my family with healthier meals and saving money in the process by cooking more from scratch and also by clipping coupons, hopefully I will feel more like I am making a contribution and/or making a difference.

The paci monster!

I decided I would phase out paci's this month for my two who still take them - Tyler and Whitney. We started it Sunday afternoon and we decided to try the method of cutting the tip off the paci's. They both did surprisingly well. Tyler didn't cry at all despite the fact that the paci was "broken" and could no longer be used. Whitney cried a little bit but not much. I expected her to not handle this transition as easily because she is not as good of a self-soother. She did, however, wake up 2 hours early from her nap. Tyler slept awesome with no problems. Then when we put them down for the night, Whitney cried for a minute but went right to bed with no problems at all through the night.

The next day, yesterday, I realized Tyler was very unphased by the phasing out of the paci because he is now holding it for comfort. Whitney on the other hand is really freaked out by them. When Craig put them down for bed last night, Whitney freaked out and ran from the paci as if maybe she has had nightmares about the paci. It is so funny to see how the two of them react so differently.

August stuff

This blog post is giving me fits when trying to move text and pictures around so it will be a little out of order. These are just a few random pictures from around our house in August.

The kids are so into eating with utensils. Whitney was determined to eat her banana with her fork.
Playing in Daddy's work boots one day.

Whitney wasn't so thrilled about the idea.

Tyler didn't know what to think...

August was a pretty uneventful month... We spent most of the month working our tails off with Craig working 6 days a week during the entire month of August and me just taking care of babies!
We went to my nephew, Caleb's second birthday party and also had a few friends over one weekend.
Then, I started school the following Monday. School is going well; I am still just trying to adjust to the new load... all the homework and projects. A little work here and there, Craig was able to finish organizing our garage. It has been a very long process, but it is over! He has worked so hard installing different organizing equipment to make all of our junk fit.
We went to my nephew, Caleb's second birthday party and also had a few friends over one weekend for a sausage BBQ. Mmmm good!
I finished off the month hosting a girls night with my book club gals. I haven't had time to read the books the past few months but I still enjoy the time to visit and chat with the girls.

More random pictures... lined up at the door.

What is so interesting out there?

Oh and one more thing about Craig and his working... Some of you already know this but for those that do not, he has been offered a management position by an executive on a very prestigious team with AT&T. The opportunity pretty much fell into his lap when he got picked to work with several executives who flew in from all over the country to work on this big mess at an apartment complex in Allen. They were all so impressed by Craig, they bragged to their boss and she then offered Craig an immediate position on her crew. This position would be much different from what he is currently doing - he would be able to work from home some, work more normal hours and there would also be some travel, but very little. We couldn't be more excited but there have been many hangups with company protocol. There are many levels of management that he has to work through on his current end (where he works now) to move forward in the process. These different managers haven't been super eager or motivated to get Craig the appropriate codes and things he needs to move forward. This promotion could be a very good thing for Craig and our family. So, for all you prayer warriors out there that read my blog, please keep Craig and this situation in your prayers. Thank you!!! I will keep you posted...
Stay tuned for several more blog posts.

Learning new things

This morning, the babies just showed us that they can point to some of their body parts. They pointed to...
...feet
...ears
...nose
...mouth

We are working on some others but this is it for now.

They are also doing pretty good with their fork and spoon. We've been working on this for quite a while but we still have a while before they have mastered this skill. We are also really working on not throwing our utensils, cups or food and once this is under control, we will introduce plates and bowls. It is time for the throwing of food and dishes to stop - I have let it go on long enough!

Tyler has learned how to climb down the stairs - he actually mastered this skill several weeks ago. Didn't take him long!

Whitney continues to master the art of walking. I haven't updated on that in a while... Whitney had started walking some but still didn't walk very much. After my last visit with ECI last week, in a matter of just a few days, Whitney started "taking off". The ECI woman gave me some great tips to strengthen her muscles and help her get out of the habit of being on her knees and into the habit of getting on her feet. She is now walking much more and doing great.

We are also learning how to follow instructions or should I say we are teaching them how to follow instructions better. They have already followed instructions some but we are trying to improve. :)

In other news, we also have several new teeth coming in. I've lost count again but Whitney and Tyler only have a few more teeth to cut before they will be finished cutting teeth for a while, until the second molars come in. Hannah's teeth don't come through as quickly so, she has several more teeth to cut. I'm sure they will be glad when this is over, as will I.

New words, new signs and new habits

I've never done a "words" post before because they haven't really talked much at all until recently. They still aren't saying much yet but there vocabulary is increasing. Here are some of the more recent words they say.

Ball (Ba ba ba ba ba) - Whitney and Tyler
Book (Ba ba ba ba) - Whitney
Dog (Da Da da da) - All
Shoes (sha sha sha sha) - All
Poopy (pa pa) - Tyler
PaPaw (Paa paa) - Tyler
Mommy (Ma ma) - All
Daddy (Da da) - All
Hi (ha ha) - Whitney
Cat (cat) - Hannah
What's that (dat dat dat) - Whitney

I'm sure there are more but this is all I can think of right now.

We just recently started working with them on a few basic signs to help them better communicate with us. Whitney is my best signer by far. She can sign sleep, eat and drink. Tyler can sign sleep and drink. Hannah can sign drink but still prefers scream and cry for her drink rather than sign for it. We also continue to practice eating with spoons and have been learning to eat with forks for a few weeks now.

Also, Tyler and Whitney are really starting to enjoy giving us kisses. Hannah loves to hug Lacy (the dog). Whitney and Hannah also love to dance. I have a little song I sing to them - singing their name basically and they almost always start swaying side to side immediately. It is so cute.

Getting brave

Many of you have asked from time to time, if the babies are still on two naps and when will we be moving to one nap. Well, that day has come. Based on their fussy behaviors, I think they were starting to get really bored being kept "prisoner" in our house. They often times "tell" me they want to leave by patting on the door. Also, they always get so excited when we put their shoes on them to go "bye bye".

They have usually done pretty well with one nap on Sundays when we go to church. I still think they do need or want two naps but we all need a change - to be able to get out of the house more often and that is next to impossible, being on two naps. I think this will also help with my school schedule when I start back to school in a few weeks.

So, during this transition, I've been getting out more with them in the mornings when they would normally be sleeping. They have done pretty well. We haven't really went to "play" yet, doing things like mall play areas, parks or splash parks. I haven't gotten that brave yet. But we have been running errands doing things out of the house but still keeping them somewhat confined in a cart of some sort. We've gone to Target, which we've done many times but I actually took ALL 3 of them with me to the grocery store this morning and that was interesting. It is not easy trying to concentrate on what food to get with so many distractions. But it went fairly well and we may start doing this on a regular basis. And it sure does free up the little bit of "family time" we have each week to actually do things together rather than do nothing but work and run errands separately while the other one watches the babies.

I've loved having one longer nap because it gives me more time to get stuff done without interruption but not getting my first break until after lunch has been a difficult thing for me to adjust to. :) I know, it will all work out in the end.

**More new blog posts below.**

**Updated** 33 - The new magic number!

**Update**

I tell ya, these teeth come in so fast, I can't hardly keep the most recent blog updates on teeth updated
. Hannah actually has 10 teeth, including 2 of her one year molars (both on top). So, 33 is the new magic number. :)

So I haven't given a teeth update in a while and we are long overdue - we've been cutting teeth left and right. I routinely check their mouths for new teeth but have lost count a while ago.

Tyler now has 12 teeth, including all 4 of his one year molars.

Whitney has 11 teeth, including 3 (2 on top and 1 on bottom) of her one year molars.

Hannah has 9 teeth, including 2 of her one year molars (both on top).

So, that totals 32 teeth, which is the same as my age. I think that is kinda ironic. :) They are doing pretty well with their teething; they are a little fussier than when the smaller teeth were coming in but overall, they are doing remarkably well.

**Be sure to check below for another recently posted blog.**

Guess who's walking! Such a big girl!

Whitney and I were working quite a bit with her walking a couple of days ago. I rarely am able to get her motivated enough to walk this much, but I have seen her grow increasingly more motivated the past few days. I am so thrilled about this mainly so she can keep up with her siblings and also so her poor knees and tops of her feet will get a break. The carpet here is very coarse and the grout in the tile in our house isn't filled flush with the top of the tile which results in cutting the tops of her feet. I've been putting her in socks and/or shoes along with pants with knee pads and will be so glad to not have to do this because it's just too hot for pants.

I took four videos and planned to share all of them because they are just too cute not to, but I have been having some technical difficulty getting them to load. I have been working on this for several days with no luck, so I think I'll try to get video of it again and load it from my camera to my computer differently next time.

Stay tuned for video of my big girl! She is so proud of herself as are we.

Settling in

We are all moved into our new house and are getting settled in more and more each day. We are loving the extra space, the new community and the small town feel. The neighbors are very friendly - several of them stopped by last week to introduce themselves and we got a chance to visit with them for a few minutes before getting back to our unpacking.

We closed on Monday and started moving in a small portion of our stuff ourselves. Craig was planning to do a treatment to the garage floor before we moved our stuff into the garage but many things unplanned things happened and we ran out of time. Tuesday, movers came and we moved all our stuff from inside the house. Tuesday night we went to get the babies from their grandparent's house. Wednesday, we spent the day the day unpacking and organizing. Craig also got sick and was very sick all day and the next. Thursday, he and my brother loaded up our garage at the old house to move it. Our garage floor was still not finished so all our stuff had to stay on the truck. Luckily nothing was stolen, which we weren't really worried about anyway, but it did rain that night so all our belongings were wet. Friday morning we painted the garage floor but it had to dry for 24 hours so our stuff had to stay outside a second night. It rained again...go figure! Luckily most everything was ok to get wet and nothing was ruined. It just made it more difficult to unload the stuff that was in boxes as the boxes were falling apart. Saturday, we got the truck unloaded and everything finally into our garage. Since then, we've been working so hard trying to finish unpacking and organizing our things.

Like I said, we are really enjoying the new house and we are adjusting well. The babies are doing really well and seem to be having no problems. Craig and I, however, are still adjusting to lugging the kiddos up and down the stairs. They can climb up but not down. We have a pretty severe fire ant problem which is not good especially considering Craig is allergic to fire ants. We have treated them and I can already see an improvement.

This entire summer has been such a whorl-wind with all the house selling/hunting/buying. I'm ready to finish getting settled in so we can do some fun summer things

Good news on the house hunt

We put an offer on a house yesterday and they accepted our offer! We are so excited to have new place to call home. The house is beautiful and we really love the neighborhood. The house is new construction and the ladies that work in the office are all wanting to introduce us to different families in the neighborhood. The ladies who work in the office said there are lots of young moms with young children who stay home, so that will be fun to meet them and get to know them. As we drive through, everybody waves at us. It just has that good ole small town feel, just like where I grew up in a small town of 2200. Our current neighborhood is rather unfriendly and keep to themselves and we couldn't be more excited to start a new chapter in this small town of Melissa. I was afraid I might feel isolated trying to adjust to being further out but I think we will be just fine. We are supposed to close on the sale of our house July 2nd and the purchase of this one July 13th so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers during the next few weeks that all of this will go smoothly and both homes will close successfully.

**An update on the kiddos... Tyler is on the mend with the hand, foot and mouth disease, Hannah, my poor baby, is struggling the most with an on and off again fever and blisters in her mouth and on her hand and feet. Plus, she has a new tooth coming through that I discovered today. And of course, Whitney is getting the same thing... she started with the bumps yesterday. Hopefully my babies will be well soon and will not get too bad of a run of this HFMD.

*** UPDATED*** ...And four hours later... A contract

We put our house officially on the market around 5pm today. About 6pm, I got a call from my agent. There is a potential buyer that is about to put a contract on another house but their agent just saw our house pop up on MLS and thought it sounded like what her clients were looking for. She wanted to show them this house before putting the contract on the other one. So, they came over around 7:30 and by 8:30 we had a contract! And the funny thing is, the buyer is the brother of our next door neighbor. So, they not only love the house, but they love the location! I totally predicted this could very well happen. They want to close in about two weeks because they are going out of town but want to move in when they return. They are willing to do a lease back situation for the month of July to give us time to find something and get moved in. Please pray that this will work out as we haven't accepted their offer yet and will probably be doing some countering. This will be such a load off to not have to grin and bear it through a million showings with three babies and toys galore! We are SO excited!

***UPDATED***

The buyers accepted our counter offer so we are officially under contract. They want to close very quickly (2 weeks) and have that done before they leave town for several weeks. They want to move in after they return so they have agreed to do a lease back to us on a daily per diem but we have to be out by July 31st. This is perfect, it gets our house sold so we can go ahead and start looking and still not have to be out for 6 weeks. Now we just need to pray that their financing will come through, although, they don't foresee any problems and we will be set. Now we need to start doing some serious house hunting.

May Misc. Activities

I've pretty much blogged about our major activities for the month of May. But, I wanted to document a few other things.

We started the beginning of the month celebrating Craig's Mom's 60th birthday! We took Mamaw and Papaw to lunch one Sunday and had a great time. We tried to embarrass her by getting the wait staff to sing to her but apparently they don't do that at Uncle Julios.

I had a play date with my SIL, Michaela at the mall. My trio was of course very nervous and scared which made it pretty tiring but then I had another play date at the mall with my friend Jennifer and they did SOOOO much better. Then, I had another play group with the cousins on Craig's side. We went to a park in Rowlett and I will have to remember this park for the future. It is all fenced in which is great! A couple of schools came and unloaded about 3 buses of kids so they ran us off but we still had fun playing in the grass under the trees.

We had a social function with our ABF and we had so much fun. I think this was the first time we've been to an ABF function - the entire family - since we had the babies!! We ate at Spring Creek BBQ and had the entire back room reserved just for us. This is a great place to have large gatherings for future reference.

We took the babies to a splash park in Allen and you guessed it, they were pretty nervous and scared. Hannah warmed up the most but even she was a little standoffish. They enjoyed the park as well. And they are really starting to enjoy climbing up the steps on the playground which makes for two very busy parents trying to keep the three of them from falling off!

I was invited to be in a book club. I figured I could probably handle it during the summer but I am not sure if I can keep up when school starts back up in the Fall. I read my first in a long time, non-children's book. It was great being able to "escape" in a good book and then get together at the end of the month to discuss the book and socialize with friends.

In other news... Whitney began pulling up on everything. This started about 2 weeks ago and we are so excited! She is also cruising a lot and we are helping her walk around while holding on to our hand.

We all got sick with some sinus infection cold thing. We are pretty well now... just the lingering runny noses including me! Craig has gotten over his but mine and the kids just won't end. Hannah is on her second round of back-to-back ear infections. If this medicine doesn't work, we will try one more then we will have to see an ENT. She had an ear infection before they got sick then when I took her back to follow up, she was at the tail end of her cold thing so we aren't sure if it is another infection or the same one and the medicine didn't work.

We are also working on teaching the babies how to use a spoon to eat. I was really surprised by how well they are doing. They are really interested and Tyler especially doesn't want me to feed him with a spoon, he wants to do it. It will be so nice and less messy once they get this down. Then, it's on to plates and bowls.

ECI came out this week and evaluated the babies. They were very pleased with them all around for being triplets. They were only behind in their speech (with the exception of Whitney's not walking) so they will be working with us on these two things.

As you can see I am not the best picture taker. I need to get better but I think I need an extra set of hands for that! Ha! Enjoy a few random pics below.

Yeah Whitney... Standing at the play kitchen!
My best climber got in the car all by herself.

Isn't she cute?

I think this was the day we went to the Arboretum.

Ready, Set, Take off!

Just a couple of weeks ago, I blogged about Hannah taking her first steps. Since then, she has pretty much been taking only one step before falling... Until yesterday... Yesterday, she started taking 5 or 6 and sometimes more steps at a time. She is constantly getting up to walk - much to my surprise, she is walking more than Tyler. Tyler can take 8 or so steps at one time but he doesn't do it as often as Hannah does. Tyler would rather push his walker - he is really into that right now. Whitney is still not interested at all in standing, pulling up or walking. :) She'll get there, in her own time. We are just as proud of her for her accomplishments. She definitely is the best mimicker ever!

March stuff

Tyler continues to stuff his mouth so full, he cannot eat it!
Having a little fun by himself on the blanket the day of the bar-b-que.
Tyler has really started to take off in the walking department this week. He has started taking 4 and 5 steps at a time and is cruising all over the place. He also got another tooth this week - #7!
Whitney is my girly girl and likes to play dress-up. She likes using these teething rings as bracelets.
I fixed Hannah's hair curly the other day. You'd never know it because I usually don't take the time to fix it (bad mom :)) but Hannah actually has curly hair. Here is a back view.
Front view but the pics don't do it justice.
Craig - post surgery. Hanging out in his recliner 24/7.

Hannah is playing dress-up - wearing my purse. And she even matches!Whitney played dress-up with my necklace and shoes after church one Sunday and she loved it. She did not want to take the necklace off!

Just before our "I-got-to-get-out-of-the-house" walk. A couple of weeks ago, the babies were going through a very fussy spell. Craig had been working 6 days a week for several weeks and I was going insane so we decided to go for a walk one Saturday despite the cold temperatures!
We ventured to the park one day after Craig got home from work. Whitney going down the slide with mommy.
Tyler's turn down the slide.

Hannah being silly.
My baby doesn't look like a baby here. He looks so grown up to me in his polo shirt and plaid shorts.

Hannah had her hair put up in her first pony tail. One of my girls is FINALLY growing hair!

This is what it looks like after taking the pony tail holder out.
