Have you ever tasted paint before???????? I can now check that off my list of things I haven't tried.
So... many of you know we have been wanting to move into a bigger house for quite some time. Well, the time has come to get the house on the market and before we could do that, we had to touch up a few things around the house with paint. You know, neutralize a few rooms and touch up some old, worn paint. Because Craig had shoulder surgery on his dominant arm, he wasn't able to help me do any painting.
In three days I painted the front door, a portion of the kitchen, one of our bathrooms, the backdoor and last but certainly not least, the chimney! This is where the fun began this evening. My brother was going to help me with this project but because there have been some sick kiddos around here, he wouldn't be able to bring his little one, Zachary, so I decided to try and wing it on my own. Before I got up on the ladder, Craig asked me if I was sure I was up for this and I said, no but it had to be done. So, I climbed up the TALL ladder (appx. 15 feet or so) and painted the chimney. It was all so wabbly but Craig assured me it would hold. He works for AT&T and often times has to climb ladders. He said "I make my living positioning ladders safely for climbing." Anyway, the higher and higher I got, the more stiff I became. And mind you, it was quite windy, which also freaked me out! Then, while I was painting above my head and my mouth held open to balance my body just right and steady my hand just right (kinda like how we women have to hold our mouths open to put on mascara), a drip of paint fell off my brush and right into my mouth! Let me say it didn't taste good! I began spitting it out and as the wind caught my spit (yes, gross I know!), it sprayed all over me. Craig let me use his white t-shirt he had on to wipe out my mouth - again gross but I didn't care because I wanted that out of my mouth ASAP! He said I had paint all in my mouth - all over my tongue, teeth, gums - everywhere!
HILARIOUS RIGHT?
It has been a productive few days and I am proud to say we only have one more big project with which my brother Les will be coming to help with tomorrow. Then, we just have to get a few window seals replaced and the carpet cleaned and we'll be ready to put the house on the market. I am so glad we were able to get so much done in just a few days. Hopefully it will sell quickly.
Happy painting!
I found your website - I have a question!

Nice!! About the paint that is. I'll pray the selling of the house will happen soon!
I'm sure the paint tasted nasty, but wouldn't that have been good for AFV!? Might have even been a winner.
Aslo praying your house will sell quickly and that y'all can find the perfect place to move to.
Yuck! I can't say that I've ever tasted paint, but I'll take your word for it. :)
Keep us posted about the house! I hope that it sells quickly.
