My sister in law, Michaela called me this morning to tell me about a free glider listed on Craig's list. It just so happens the people giving it away, live right down the street from me. So, I hopped in the car to go check it out. Granted, it is not a fully upholstered glider (which is what I want), but hey... it's free. Can't beat that... Craig wants to get two anyway, but I wasn't sure we would have the room or the finances to do so. So, this worked out great. Its small enough that it will probably fit okay in the nursery or maybe in the living room with the other glider. Boy is it going to be packed in our small house.... Anyway, it is in good shape - the wood and the cushions; the only thing I don't like about it is the fabric color and the wooden arms, but we'll make do. It is a country blue. So, needless to say, I am going to re-upholster it with Michaela's help. She is much more skilled at the sewing/upholstering type of thing than I am. Here is a picture of the before shot... I will show you the finished product after we finish it.
See how country it is? Not really my style, but we'll fix her up.
Speaking of my sister in law, Michaela... I have to back up a few weeks and tell you about the most amazing experience she and her husband Kyle (my brother in law, Craig's brother) allowed me to be a part of. She was pregnant and due earlier this month with their third child, Maggie. Because she already knew about me being pregnant, she invited me to be in the delivery room to experience everything to help prepare me for my BIG day. Granted, at the time, we did not know I am having triplets and will most likely have a C-section, but still, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. So, on July 10th, Michaela was induced, and let me just say if anything helped ease my fears of child birth it would be Michaela. What a trooper! First of all, she handled labor, the epidural and everything else that goes along with labor, like a pro. She remained calm the entire time, or at least I thought she did... She did great when the epidural was being put in. Which, WOW, what a sight to see! It was funny, they made me sit in a chair before the doc started the process so in case I fainted or something, I wouldn't fall and hit my head. I thought that was a good idea... So, fast forwarding a few hours, when Michaela was ready to start pushing, I got very excited, but also VERY nervous. I bet I was more nervous than she was. LOL Well... maybe not, but she had done this twice before. Anyway, when Michaela started pushing, I could not believe how fast she brought Maggie into this world. Everything happened so fast. I videoed as Michaela pushed through a couple of contractions and then I turned the camera off (to save their battery) thinking it would be a while before Maggie came out. Much to my surprise, I think she pushed through only one contraction (maybe 3 or 4 pushes) and Maggie was here. Seriously, this newest addition to the family was here in less than 10 minutes! Unbelievable! It was just a wonderful and special experience to be a part of for which I am truly grateful to them and the grandmothers for letting me take their place in the delivery room to experience it.
I found your website - I have a question!
