Multi-tasking Much???

Craig went back to work Monday and it has been a struggle to say the least. Today is the first day I am attempting to juggle this circus on my own. I thought I would give it a trial run first before my MIL goes back to work. Craig is working today and my MIL went home for the day so I could truly do it all by myself. I have fed all three a couple of times by myself, but somebody has always been here to help in case things get crazy and I have never done it more than one feeding at a time. So far so good. The first feeding this morning, I tried feeding two at a time again (did that yesterday). This time I did it a little differently and it went a little more smoothly and took about 1 1/2 hours total. So, at the second feeding, I decided to try feeding three at a time! I know you are all probably wondering how I did this... I propped them up their boppies, fed two with my hands and held the other bottle with my leg. It was pretty crazy to say the least, but it went pretty well. I had all three fed and diapers changed in about an hour. This is a far cry from feeding one at a time for 30 minutes each. Doing it this way, I think I would literally go insane because it takes about 2 hours to feed them all one at a time, change diapers, have awake time and back down to bed. On top of that I pump before every feeding for AT LEAST 30 minutes, usually it is more like 45. So, if we are feeding every 3 hours that gives me roughly 30 minutes to get other things done like eat, shower, laundry, wash bottles, cleaning, prepare dinner etc before starting the process all over again. COMPLETE CRAZINESS! Napping for me is completely out of the question doing it this way. I may be able to catch an hour nap here and there if I can continue feeding them all at the same time.

A few updates on the kids...

This past Thursday, the kids turned 6 weeks old. Their adjusted age is now ZERO. Adjusted age just means this is what they would be if they were born at their due date. Like today...they are the equivalent of a 2 day old baby.



Tyler is definitely our fussiest child. He is very sensitive and hates to be messed with...getting a bath, a diaper change, a change of clothes. He is very dependant on his paci for comfort. He is eating much better than he was in the NICU. A lot of times I think he actually eats better than the girls do. At their one month appointment Tyler weighed 6 lbs. 6.3 oz., 2 pounds more than he was when he was born.


Whitney's face is getting so round.

Whitney is our second fussiest child. Although, a lot of her fussiness is due to reflux and gas problems. Whitney is usually awake more than the other two. She doesn't seem to require as much sleep. I think she will definitely keep me on my toes. At the one month appointment, she weighed 6 lbs. 9.1 oz., a little less than 2 pounds over her weight at birth (4-13).


Don't you just love Hannah's pants!

Hannah is by far our most laid back child. She loves to sleep and hardly ever cries. She also has reflux and gas problems but it doesn't seem to bother her...she doesn't have a care in the world. Thank GOD for at least one easy going child. :) At her one month appointment she weighed 6 lbs. 10.9 oz., a little over 2 pounds over her birth weight (4 9 1/2). Hannah had a hip sonogram this week just to make sure everything was okay with her hips because she was born breech and everything came back just fine.

Lacy is adjusting just fine with the babies. Most of the time she doesn't pay much attention to them unless they are in the floor or their swings.
